In this activity, we had a list of fifteen items that we could use to survive and get rescued. We had a raft, and matches and had to use these items to get rescued first, then survive.
my items were:
1. a 25 liter container of water
2. a case of army rations
3. a fishing kit
4. a small transistor radio
5. maps of the pacific ocean
6. 15ft nylon rope
7. 20 square feet of opaque plastic sheeting
8. a can of shark repellent
9. 2 boxes of chocolate bars
10. a sextant
11. a quantity of mosquito netting
12. one bottle of 160 per cent proof rum
13. a 10 liter can of oil/petrol mixture
14. a floating seat cushion
15. a shaving mirror
I picked the water and the case of army rations as my first two picks because you need both water and food in order to survive. My team and I took votes on what we thought our items should be ranked, one item that was similarly close to mine was the water which was exactly the same. An item that was ranked differently was the can of oil/ petrol i ranked it thirteen, my group ranked it number four. My answers and the expert answers were way different, i thought surviving was the key thing, but getting rescued turned out to be more important. I would trust the expert opion more because they are an expert and we are not.

Tennis Ball Challenge
The tennis ball challenge was to try and get the tennis ball to touch everyone's in your groups hands and beat the other teams. You could not drag the ball across everyones hands, and everyone had to touch the ball to win. Our team got into a circle and got as close as we could to each other, and each held out on hand at a slant, we set the ball down and it rolled across our hands. Our group ended up having the fastest time for our period and our plan was a success in the way it worked. I would keep the circle the same and keep only one hand in the middle. The thing i would change is that i would push the ball to get it to move faster instead of setting it down. Our group all had the same idea as far as making the circle, but we made changes from using two hands to only one to cut the time in half. I would make it to were you had to be a specific amount of space apart and possibly have to throw the ball. Yes, our team won, and we had the fastest time.
